I had Miah swaddled in a towel after her bath. She was repeating "baby, baby," so I started to sing "Rock a bye baby in the tree top..." Even though she doesn't like me to call her baby anymore, she thought, for the moment, that this was great fun. All of a sudden her eyes grew huge.

"Mommy! No! No! Crash!"

Momentarily dumbstruck, I stared back into her big eyes. Then I laughed and laughed. She knew what came next in the song: the baby falls out of the boughs and crashes. She sings the song, if you'll remember as "Rock baby, rock baby, wind, crash." Miah was certain I was going to drop her if I kept singing.
